This was a weekend away again but if you noticed the date it was a bit special our anniversary  and Christine did not no where she was going. We had a lovely meal out Saturday night and Sunday morning got out early on the walk so we could have a long time looking around Canterbury afterwards.

  • Photos Taken on Walk

The walk takes you round the back streets of Canterbury and the main town then you go through the Stour valley where we met this cow who liked having its photo taken, it was quite funny I said turn to your left or face me and he did, then you go up on to Golden hill where they reckon this would have been the first view pilgrims would have had of the city and Cathedral. The place we were staying was owned by a couple who lived in very old Gothic building a couple houses up and theirs was one of six.

The walk round the town was very good we went through the gardens, we went to the Rupert the bear shop and museum but unfortunately it was shut, we went in the Canterbury tales and I must admit well worth the money it had us laughing as when you go round you hear each tale and they have been updated to modern times its really funny. We wanted to look round the Cathedral but we hung on till late afternoon when you can go to a service without paying and you really get the atmosphere.
