This walk normally would start from the pub The Square and Compasses in Fuller Street but this time we started about half way round Terling don't ask me why we did this as I can not remember myself.Fuller Street derives from Fullwood Street or Folewode from the 14th century meaning foul, dirty wood!. On to the walk we started in Terling which is one of the most attractive villages in Essex and the seat of the Rayleigh's. Terling Place has a park of 200 acres and Henry VIII had a palace here both have gone. When we got to Fairstead church which is built of roman bricks and has wall paintings over 700 years old and a 600 years old bell in the belfry, we sat outside on a bench and looked over the valley a very nice place to sit and relax for a while.

When we came to Fuller Street where we should have started we met a couple in there garden and started talking about Springer Spaniels as they had two of their own and were kind enough to get a bowl of water for Bryn. We had a couple of coffee at the Square and Compasses and we have since come back there and had a lovely meal. The walk went through a wood and it was the right time of year to see bluebells. When we got back to Terling you have to go through a ford and bryn loved this as he could have a drink and cool his pads down.
