Well this walk is a out and back walk rather than a circular one which we normally do but at least you don't come back the same way but come back along the river bank and as you can see by the photo there was lots of poppies when we done it.
Details of Walk
Date of Walk: 07/07/2019
Distance: 6.54 Miles
Car Park: Jubliee Car park near Sainsburys Free IP28 7HG
Refreshments: Jude's Ferry Pub half way round or plenty of places in town
This walk we were by ourselves and the dogs as Michael was not over and we started the walk from the free car park near Sainburys and walked through the town to the St Mary's Church. We walked down Church walk which took us through the church yard and continued along a narrow road. We then turned left to then follow the bridleway taking us past the cricket ground on our left and then a bit further we were in open country side walking along a very good concrete path with poppies and various wildflowers on the verge.
A bit further on to the right you can see the airbase in the distance and also you could see Worlington church on the left on the distance. Just here there was a wooden seat ideal place to have lunch here but it was to early. So we pressed on along the concrete path until we came to a road at West Row.
At the road we turned left and walked past some bungalows until we came to Ferry Lane which is where we turned left again and followed the road down to the River Lark and the pub called Jude's Ferry. Here we let the dogs have a drink from a dogs bowl left out for dogs. We were quite tempted to have a glass of shandy while sitting by the river but no we resisted the temptation and carried on walking.
To get on to the riverside path we had to go under the bridge and here the route was okay but quite narrow having to watch the stinging nettles all the time especially as we were wearing shorts. From now on we kept to the river bank until we got back to the house where we new if we took the path to the left that would take us back to the seat we saw coming to have our lunch.

After our lunch we made our way back to the river and through a kissing gate at the back of a house where there was a footbridge over to the other side but we had to go straight on pass the bridge. The path got better from here not so over ground and there was a field where the hay had been cut and baled up and there was a tractor going over turning the hay to get it dry for bailing up. The route was now heading away from the river to join up with the path we had come along earlier. After 300 yards where the path divided we went down some steps to go along the river again until we came to a bridge. This would have taken us up on to a road but this was closed so we had to make a detour back to a path that would take us to the church and turned right at the church to get us back on to the walk again. When we had got there we continued but this time we were on the other side of the river and it was not long before we had to go over another bridge. We were now at the back of the car park with lots of seats along the river and a very large well kept grass area for people to enjoy.
