This is the first time we choose a walk rather than following the book the reason being we needed a short walk near by to Braintree as we had something else on that day that we needed to do. Stebbing is as old as the Domesday book or a little older, you start the walk from The White Hart and you come to the cricket field.

Details of Walk

  • Date of Walk: 18/10/2009

  • Distance: 3.31 Miles

  • Level of Difficulty: A Easy Walk

  • Car Park:  The White Hart also on the Street CM6 3SQ

  • Refreshments:  The White Hart.

On this walk we went past The Mount, a moated mound which is the site of a castle from Norman times and then we went past a lovely house dating back to the Shakespearean times. Part of the walk we walked along a green lane which is about 3/4 miles . We passed a house called The Red Lion House which used to be a Pub, this walk took us all around the outskirts of Stebbing
