This walk is as usual a circular walk from Tillingham to St Lawrence church then back a back on a different route. Tillingham is an ancient settlement the main street widens just south of the Norman church of St Nicholas into a green and there are many pretty weathered boarded cottages.

Unfortunately, there is no photos as I remembered the camera, but I forgot to put the SD card in, I was not a happy chappie as I like to take photos of our walks as looking them you can remember the walk better and also on the website it looks better rather than a write up.
Right let's get on with the walk it started at the green by the pub called The Cap and Feathers which is a white timbered building, and it is owned by a small Essex brewer Crouch Vale. From the pub we walked down the side along Vicarage Lane and came to Stows Farm where they had an air strip, I suppose for a light aircraft that they own. It was here when the camera came out and I realized I had no SD card, only thing we will have to is do the walk again sometime. After leaving the farm you go past the old gravel pits which now have been restored with ponds and bushes. When we got to St Lawrence church, we had really good views over the Blackwater estuary, Osea island to the left and on a fine day you can see as far as Tollesbury, and West Mersea to the right.
From the church we headed back a different way along the St Peters Way which is a long-distance path from Ongar to Bradwell.
